The Roadmap to Central Finland creative economy 2013+ puts together the common will, recognizes the creative industries actors and outlines each actors’ tasks for future development of creative economy in Central Finland. In our definition creative economy refers to the added value that creative industries’ products, services or skills can yield to other sectors. For instance when a hardware store aims to increase the value of its business by investing in service design, it is taking advantage of the creative economy. Responsibility and Innovation Award for Crea.re partner Green Workshop Wendland

Berlin. The Bertelsmann Foundation as one of the most established social and cultural foundations in Germany awarded the Crea.re partner Green Workshop Wendland as an outstanding example for public engagement of regional companies and creatives. The chairwoman of the foundation, Liz Mohn, presented the award at a gala on February 26th in Berlin. More then 130 initiatives from all over Germany had applied in the competition „My good example“. The Green Workshops’ interdisciplinary matching of local companies with young creatives from universities in the metropolitan regions convinced the Jury exspecially with its innovative approach. From Creative Clash – to Creative Clash Network Europe

The successful Creative Clash Final Conference held 19 March 2013 at the Goethe Institut in Brussels! This conference presented the results of the Creative Clash two-year cooperation project and engage reflection around artistic interventions as a tool for innovation. Discussions with policy makers, politicians and practitioners from a variety of fields took place about how artistic interventions can generate innovation, social innovation and local economy development and analysed how they contribute to a more Creative Europe and enhance cross-sectorial fertilisation. CREARE maintains its European presence up to the very last moment of the project’s lifetime – and hopefully afterwards as well

Although only a few days are left until the official closure of the project, CREA.RE was invited by the representative office of the Region Haute-Normandie to hold a presentation of the project and its achievements during the workshop on the future of the European cultural policy organised on 21 and 22 of March 2013 in Brussels. The CREA.RE presentation is embedded in the workshop session called “From global to local perspectives: the role of European cultural networks and examples of regional projects involving the cultural and creative industries”. Our partner the Province of East Flanders, represented by Mr. Julio Delva, will make the presentation in Brussels on behalf of the whole partnership.

Within the Crea.Re project MDA has prepared workshops, where stakeholders from the cultural and creative sectors from the Podravje region were learning how to prepare business plans. The workshops were led by a successful business man, Marko Podjavoršek, who has a lot of experience in the field of marketing and was one of the most active stakeholders in the regional Crea.Re workshops since the beginning of the project. He shared his knowledge on how to prepare good business plans and path the way to make your idea into a model which can be presented to institutions that would financially support the idea (either by loans, donations, or other means of funding).
